Science Teacher – Mrs J Neville
My name is Mrs. Neville and I teach Science to all students at St. George’s Academy. I studied at the University of Wolverhampton for my BSc Honours Human Physiology & Pharmacology degree and teacher training. Since qualifying, I have worked at both mainstream and alternative provision schools.
Key Stage 3 students study a 12 unit course that introduces the principles of science in an informal and kinaesthetic way. The emphasis is on group learning and improving practical skills.
Key Stage 4 students study Edexcel Core Science over 2 years, giving extra time to develop practical skills and learn the syllabus as thoroughly as possible.
The emphasis in Year 10 is engagement and enjoying science, while doing practicals in pairs or groups of 3 to further develop their skills.
Promising students will have the opportunity to study Additional Science (2 GCSEs) on a course of individual tuition and homework via the VLE.
